Nintendo Wii, the gift worth giveing...or keeping

The Nintendo Wii is a great system for children of all ages, and even housewives looking for a little extra entertainment in their day.

With game choices like Wii Music, My Sims, and one of the Wii’s best selling games, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, the Wii can provide hours of enjoyment for any child.

Wii Music

Wii Music is a delightful game where one can use the personalized “Mii” (A player created character designed to look like you) to play one of various instruments from a broad selection of child friendly songs using a number of combinations of the Wii mote, the nun chuck, and the balance board (which is NOT included in the game).  Overall I would have to give Wii Music 7.5 out of 10, love the cute songs and adorable nature of the game but the balance board can be slightly expensive and the game is truly best for younger children.

My Sims

My Sims is a wonderfully original game good for the entire family.  In the game you get to design your home, then you go around helping neighbors build, design, and lay out new furniture.  As a reward for your assistance you unlock designs, patterns, and options to select new neighbors and evict current ones.  Even though furniture pieces have specific patterns you are allowed complete creative freedom.  Also the system by which you create your furniture has a tutorial, and is very simple to use while still maintaining maximum customization.  My Sims could best be described as a cross between Animal Crossing and Sim City; so if you liked either you will love this game.  Id give My Sims a 8.5 out of 10 (9 if I can get the pizza guy as a neighbor, Mmmm…pizza!)   My Sims is a definite must have.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Also, in my opinion, the number one game for the Nintendo Wii, ladies and gentlemen I give you Super Smash Brothers Brawl.  While including all your favorite characters from previous titles ( Fox, Samus, Kirby, etc…) many new characters are making their debut (Sonic, Lucario, R.O.B, Solid Snake) giving this game an edge up on its predecessors.  Also new maps and a feature that allows you to create your own maps sets Brawl apart from other fighting games.  Also if you connect to the internet you can Brawl with people from all over the world in the comfort of your living room.  But if you have your friends Wii code You all can duke it out online.  Overall Super Smash Brothers Brawl gets a 10 out of 10 and is another must have for Wii owners.

All in all the Nintendo Wii has to be one of the most interactive, creative, and purely fun consoles to date.  The motion sensor bar allows communication between the various controllers and the console.  This gives an unprecedented level of interactivity between gamers and the game.

Nintendo is seeming to be the most innovative and family friendly gaming company there is.  From the N64 to the Wii they have had an unprecedented level of innovative hardware and software.  Therefore I must make the Nintendo Wii my choice for the most family friendly gaming system out there.

On a side note if you are thinking of purchasing the Nintendo Wii as a gift, try to do so before early to mid-December because most stores run out of stock.
